2012 Pedagogical prize

What a great surprise! I have just been awarded the 2012 Pedagogical prize from Umeå School of Business and Economics. Apart from the “glory and fame”, the award came with a travel stipend of 20 000 SEK. More information is published here.

The motivation from the Rector: “Handelshögskolans pedagogiska pris för 2012 tilldelas universitetslektor Mattias Jacobsson.

Which translates to:

“The 2012 Pedagogical prize at Umeå School of Business has been awarded Assistant professor Mattias Jacobsson. Jacobsson is active at the department of Business Administration at the Business School. Jacobsson is awarded the prize due to the way he has been able to combined scientific knowledge with an excellent understanding of the students and their learning. He has with innovative thinking and responsiveness developed courses that have given students a good understanding of, and confidence in, areas such as project management. His courses have for several years received solesly positive reviews from the students”. [Edited Google translate]

Btw, nice to see that the local media paid attention!
