Yesterday, on my official ‘name day’ (the 24th of February), I was promoted to Associate professor in Management (Swedish, Docent). For those who do not know, Docent is the academic appointment between Assistant professor (Swedish, Lektor) and Professor. Similar to the PhD, the Docent appointment is for life. It is consequently not ‘merely’ an employment. If you want to know more about how it all fits together, have a look at wiki.
